I'm in need of a building to park my tractor, camper, 4wheelers and mower under. I had originally thought of an aluminum shed, similar to what you see on the side of the road for $695 but larger of course. Looking at the prices of these things though has me wondering. A 24x24 would be in the $12-$1500 range. Could I build a pole barn for less? What materials would you guys recomend? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm kind of in the same boat. Have been pricing the metal sheds with roughly the same estimates that you have. So, I'm wondering the same thing. Can I build a pole shed for less? I'll be interested in seeing replies to this one.

With the current price of lumber I don't think you could build a pole barn for the price of the metal shed. Especially if you count your labor, although most people don't.

I am adding a section to my pole barn aprox. 12' x 30'. The tin for the roof and sides and the treated post will run around $500-$600. The 2x4's and rafters I already have( sawmill lumber stored in barn for several years).

I also have looked at the metal sheds you a looking at and will most likey get one of those also. The price of these usually includes installation and they can have them up in 1-3 days.
