Polaris Trailblazer Solenoid

I have a 2000 Polaris trailblazer and the guy I bought it from hooked the battery up backwards. I put in a new battery and everything was fine for about a month and now my battery is dead. Where would I find the alternator, is it inside the motor?

Solenoid would be part of the starter and on these models I believe you just need to follow the red lead off the battery and you should find it then leading from it find the starter.
Battery backwards, let see: 1 possible rectifier/regulator fried, 2 alternator/stator fried, and some important connectors in between possibly fried. 3 and possibly the polarity of the charging system backwards or messed up.
Read expensive mistake. Operator error. To play you must pay.

Sorry i meant to say the alternator not the solenoid don't know what I was thinking. When the battery was charged every thing worked fine so I'm guessing the only thing I would need to replace is the alternator

Alternator should be on the right side. Not sure, but if it is, the electrical leads should be there as well. These would go to a rectifier and then to the battery. So if it is just not charging, like battery voltage across the positive and negative post is not 14.5 or close to it when running at say 2500rpm, you could have a faulty rectifier or alternator. Have the rectifier checked first as it is cheaper. And hopefully it blew up before the alternator got hurt. Voltage travels from the alternator to the rectifier, where it is changed to DC and then regulated to 12-15 volts to charge the battery.
