Greetings all. I have a question about plumbing a front snow plow on the front of my L3710.

Here's the tractor:

I bought an 8' Fisher snowplow that has two hydraulic rams for angle. The plow is connected to a skid steer style quick connect plate. I plan on using the mid mount PTO to drive the pistons so I can still maintain all the controls to my FEL. I once setup hydraulic steering on an off road buggy, but I'm still a bit hazy on what I need to be doing here.

I need to run a line from the pump, to a directional valve that allows for left movement, to a line to the rams via quick connects, then back to the PTO. Correct? Or am I missing a link somewhere?

What I had in mind:

Thank you.

Your missing a reservoir for oil. I would spend my money on a third function on the loader and use the hydraulics you already have. Would likely be cheaper too.

I'll 2nd that. A diverter or 3rd function will be cheaper & less complex.

Just read up on regen if you plan on putting the diverter on the curl circuit. It messes with single acting cylinders. I don't know if your loader has power dump instead of only regen dump. Economy Kubotas only have regen dump, Grands have regen dump then power dump on the far end of the lever actuation.

Yup, add a rear remote, your setup/idea if done properly will be 3x the cost and overly complicated just to run a plow, plus you can use the remote for something else when your plow is not mounted.

Or just get the head for a Fisher Minute Mount and use the plow electric hydraulic and control

You sent me a PM and I replied.

Read up on diverter.

Link in my signature for my diverter install. Under $500 total, and you never need to take your hand off your joystick

Thats not true. I dont know kubotas logic for when to use a regen-only valve, or a regen + power dump. But my L3400 that I had, which is an economy model, had BOTH

Not a good idea on a tractor. #1, it will likely cost you more anyway to get a good running power head. #2, plow pumps are juice eaters. On a truck its fine because big battery and 100-150 amp alternator.

Batter on these tractors is alot smaller, and a ~40-50a charging system just isnt gonna cut it.

It will work, yes it takes quite a bit of electricity, but unless you are playing with the controls constantly it will work.
A person can let the tractor run a bit when finished.

I have a Western Pro electric / hydraulic plow on my pickup and after plowing several driveways with a lot of maneuvering, I occasionally have to stop and let the 140 amp truck alternator charge the depleted battery. There is no question that the smaller tractor electrical system would have a difficult time handling this load. However, most of the battery drain occurs when lifting the heavy plow. Very little effort is required to pivot. With a FEL mounted plow, the lifting is done hydraulically by the FEL and requires no electricity. With a little conservation, IMO, an electric / hydraulic system would work on a tractor for pivot only. LD1 is right though about the cost.

Ah. Big help there.

I see the diverter valve. As for the joystick, I was just going to do a simple log splitter-stype handle. Left to angle left, right to angle right.

I'll need to read up on plumbing in a diverter it seems. I'm guessing I tap into the power beyond port?

Checked out a video of a diverter valve. So that works differently then I thought it would. Just so I understand it, I flip a switch, it cuts off a particular function to my joystick, I angle the plow, flip the button back, and regain the control of the original function. Joystick makes more sense now.
