Plowing (Sod) With the 45

Ground is about perfect for plowing here in central Pa. This field was in the CRP program and hasn't been turned over for 20 + years. I'm using a 2 bt plow and the 45 can pull it in 2 wd. Did have some problems with the good ole Howse plow, the coulter fell apart and is buried somewhere in the field.

pictures look good. I am getting ready to buy dk45se and was wondering how you like yours and does it do everything you want it to. And does it use a lot of diesel when you are plowing.

Hi Frog5234---I have 155 hours on the 45 and so far I like it. Has lots of power for every task that I've used it for and that includes loader work for clearing pine trees, plowing snow and ground, cultivating, harrowing, and mowing.
It does use a fair amount of diesel when plowing but then I have it revved up and plow fast to turn the ground over. Someone else mentioned that they use about .75 gal per hr but I'm not sure what type of work they were using it for to get those numbers.

Thanks for the information . Right now I own a Ck20 with fel and 5 ft brushhog and 5 ft box blade and it has 200 hrs now and was bought Oct 06 and my wife and me have used it to clear and clean up 22 acres. It has never gave us any problems. have done all maint. my self. Love the little Kioti and am hoping the bigger one will be just as good.
