I am looking to add a hydraulic winch to my BX24. I have a lead on this winch but can not pull any numbers to do research and see if it will work with my tractor. The guy who owns it told me he could not find a model or rating on the motor, the winch is just marked Ramsey.

This is what he did find.
Vickers Hydraulic Motor Patented 2544387, 2544988, 2544990 7(or 2)64193

Eyeballing the port sizes they look to be around 1/2" NPT and 3/4" NPT.

His best guess at the comparable current model: | Ramsey Winch |

Do you think the hydraulics on the BX can handle this?
Is this a winch that would work?

It should work with any hyd flow. Question is, what pressure/GPM was it designed for. You might start off and regulate the pressure to 1500 psi. The GPM will dictate the rpm of the hyd motor. What is the GPM of your tractor.

A better pic of the hyd motor would be good.

I beleive the total output at hydraulic pump is 6.2 GPM running @ 3200 RPM. The flow priority valve allocates a constant flow of 2.5 GPM to the steering, leaving 3.7 GPM.

Same pics should be better quality

It looks like a worm gear off the hyd motor running a spur type gear on the winch. I will bet at 3.7 gpm the winch will be very slow. If you could get a motor PN you would be able to at least know motor rpm at flow.

If you winch while stationary (pulling logs, say) you would have all 6.2 gpm available so I'd expect some acceptable level of performance.
Worst would be that you'd winch at high or full RPM to get max flow.
!/2" pipe for input suggests to me that it should be usable with 6.2 GPM, maybe not optimal, but usable.
Just slower (and safer, LOL, on your sized tractor.)

NO! The steering is feed from a priority valve...it get's it's piece of the pie whether moving or stationary.

I will bet it will be way to slow...

FWIW ....... looks like a winch off a utility bucket truck, if that's any help in determining what exactly the winch is.
