I just bought this older post driver. Was wondering if anyone could help me identify it. It looks commercially built to me, but I have not seen this design before.
There seems to be some form of latches in the center, I have not fired it off yet to see if I can make it work, or exactly what they do.
It does not have the springs I am used to seeing, the man I bought it from said it just used the weight.
It does not have as long of a cylinder as the ones I am familiar with, but has a compound linkage.
Guessing from the v track metal work, and linkages etc, I believe this was a fairly expensive piece of equipment in its day.
The original paint is what I still believe is on it and it is green, but does not appear to be faded JD Green to me.
There was a sticker on the side, but long since unreadable.
It has a Cross control valve on it, and it looks well fit, so I am guessing original.
The gentleman I bought it from said it was his fathers, and it worked when tied to the tree I took it off from.
Any help, thoughts, ideas, tips, tricks, advice or such are welcome.
Oh, and some will want to know. $500 gamble.
