Norris (gotrocks) nailed it. They are called elephant ears and grow from a bulb that varies in size from about tennis ball to about football sized. In Japan they grow a very similar plant and harvest the bulbs to eat; kinda like we eat potatoes. These plants love wet soil. I don't think it's possible to overwater them. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Looks like Kathy got you to clean up for that picture. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I was leavin' for work and Kathy wanted something B-I-G beside the elephant ears for comparison. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Did you notice how I color-coordinated my tie? ...always a fashion show here in the boonies of Texas. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
