I purchased a 25 gallon spray tank for herbicides a year ago. It is from a well known vendor. I bought it knowing it was ALL plastic, except the pump. The wand and boom have steel tubes, the rest, all plastic. When I used it last at the end of the year the nipple for the wand broke off, the nipples for the boom and wand are side by side. So, I called customer service and told them I need a nipple for the pump that broke on mine. They told me they were going to send another one out.....complete unit. I told her I only need the nipple for the pump. She said don't worry about it. And didn't want the old one back(probably because of the contamination from what ever was in it). I told her thanks and hung up. Called the parts line and ordered a nipple for the pump. Installed it this year and it worked fine. Now the wand was leaking profusely where the trigger is now!! :mad:I opened the new tank and took the wand out of it to use and wouldn't you know.....it leaks!! At first I started to call, but than thought it wasn't worth it anymore.:confused2: The question I have is does anyone make a GOOD sprayer that will last at least 1 yr??:confused3: That won't break the bank???

Mine leaked at the wand, but I know why, I drained the tank but the wand still had water in it.. froze, and burst. Found a new one for $6 at Race Brothers Farm supply..

Good questions.

I have a 15 gallon, 1 GPM FIMCO sprayer, purchased for $89 at TSC, that's made it through one year without any problems.

I decided I wanted additional tank capacity, so I purchased a 25 gallon, 2 GPM Countyline from TSC for $149 this spring. The TSC salesman told me that the sprayer was a re-branded FIMCO. I don't have any idea as to whether this is true.

A plastic Y garden hose fitting developed a leak after spraying one tank. I replaced it with a metal fitting and then the pump quit after spraying the third tank. I returned the sprayer to TSC and obtained a replacement. The replacement has made it through two tanks without a problem, but I'm not confident about its future performance.

So to shorten your list of possible candidates, strike Countyline.

Have fun and stay safe......

I used my sprayer yesterday and it turns out it is NOT Fimco but rather North Star which I bought at Northern Tool years ago.

Freezing is not an issue w/ mine it is in a heated garage. I looked around but cannot find anyone that makes a sprayer w/ brass fittings, why is that? Do they corrode or something from chemicals??

No brass is more expensive. My first sprayer the tank cracked. So far so good on the second one. Both fimco.

I called and they are sending me a new wand. I can't see spending $130 on another plastic sprayer and have the same issues. I guess I will just keep piecing this one back together until the tank cracks or something major.:(

I have a 50 gal Fimco... ive had it for about 8-9 years. Never had any problems cept for a cracked filter bowl (i forgot to drain it before winter). Has always worked great. and it too is plastic. I believe all sprayers are plastic....at least all that ive seen for utility tracrors/atv's
