So just changed all the fluids/fluids in the BX last week and went out to the shop this morning to get ready to do some spraying. Checked the hydraulic fluid at the the back of the tractor and noticed it was a bit low. No big deal, figured that I would top it off and be on my way spraying before the rains move in this evening.
Unfortunately, my tractor was one of the models that originally had a hard hydraulic line routed around the back of the tractor. This eventually cracked at one of the fittings and was replaced with a soft line; leaving very little room to maneuver a funnel into the hydraulic fill port. In the process of trying to get the funnel in a good position a piece of the funnel's outer lip broke off and fell down through the spout and into the hydraulic reservoir. Piece is roughly 1" long by 1/8" wide or less.
On the plus side, with fresh fluid it is quite visible at the bottom of the reservoir and looks to be reachable with a set of long thing forceps. Downside, is I have to squeeze running to work in-between Mother's Day breakfast, and buying a new fridge at Lowe's to get said forceps and still hopefully spray.
My big question is if I should not be able to remove the plastic piece from the reservoir (big hands, small space to work) do I need to start looking into more drastic measures for removal? Or will it stay harmlessly in the reservoir / get pulled out of circulation by the filter?
