I have a Primeweld plasma cutter CT520D it’s a non pilot arc machine. It works great but it would be nice to have the pilot arc. Especially after using the plasma cutter at work. I thought I read where someone was able to convert non pilot arc to pilot arc? Is this possible? If so is it expensive? Is it worth doing? Thanks

google "convert non pilot arc to pilot arc"
tons of reference

You can seriously screw up your power grid if it isn't done correctly. The HF will feed back onto the ground.

I tried it for fun by putting a washer with a wire around the tip a ran to ground and had a pilot arc when torch was turned on. On my cheap plasma I just bought a pilot arc torch complete for about $25 run the extra wire at plug to a ground of the machine, works fantastic

Converting a non-pilot arc plasma cutter like the Primeweld CT520D to a pilot arc system is technically possible, but it can be complex and may require significant modifications to the internal circuitry. The process typically involves adding additional components such as a high-frequency generator or modifying the torch to enable the pilot arc feature. This conversion can be costly and may require specialized knowledge in electronics and welding equipment.
Given the expense and technical expertise needed, it might be more practical to invest in a plasma cutter that already includes a pilot arc, rather than attempting a conversion. On the other hand, if you're the type who enjoys challenges, like trying your luck at a casino https://bacanaplaycasino.net/ taking on such a project could be an exciting endeavor.

Converting a non-pilot arc plasma cutter like the Primeweld CT520D to a pilot arc is technically possible, but it can be complex and might require significant modifications. This could involve adding components like a high-frequency start circuit, which might be costly and tricky to implement correctly. The conversion might not be worth the expense and effort, especially considering potential reliability issues. If you frequently need the pilot arc feature, it might be more practical to invest in a machine that comes with it built-in.

I do not know much about the primeweld plasma(I do have there tig) but for my cheapo plasma cutter I bought a new torch for plasma and hooked it up and went inside the welder and found a good ground from the gun and installed a connector to hook the wire on the new plasma torch and have pilot arc on my cheapo plasma machine. Thant said I know nothing about the primeweld one.
