Planter toolbar question

Hey guys,

I'm building a 3 row planter using 71 flex units, the toolbar will be about 7' long and be a 6"x3" box. I've been thinking of a clean way to add the hookup for the 3 pt on the tractor.

You guy posted the A frame from Agri supply and I had my lower pins already in my head by using angle iron that came under the box frame and had the lower pins sticking out to the sides and this being u-bolted to the frame.

Why not bolt the A frame to the Angle Iron using the pins and then run the top support down from the top link back down to the box frame? You can see it better in their photo below. I was even thinking of using another angle iron on the tool bar and just bolt the top link down where it will come on the top of the tool bar.

I can't answer your question, sorry. But I am interested in your thread 'cause I want a three-row planter in the next couple years. I assume the row units clamp around the toolbar with big square bolt clamps. If that is so, I would try to get more of the clamps and use the same technique to clamp on a welded 3-point subframe. Build the 3-point subframe of tubular material too, and match your I-match or quick hitch. That's my input. Now, can I ask where you found your 71 planter units?
