I have less than 50 hours on my 3525, love it so far. Got the loader option and am really surprised on how well it cuts into piles of dirt and stone. Must have extra weight though. I have about 1800 lbs on 3ph. and with that much, its a force to be reckoned with. Anyhow... my driveway is dirt and not at all level, and know for sure me trying to use the loader(which is my intention) I will be making a mess of things. Do they make or has anyone came up with skids of some sort for loaders so the dont ruin the earth when you dont want them to? Im curious.

many thanks
Pat

I haven't done it but I know a couple people in our area (i'm not far from you) that have split 1.5" or 2" pipe so it fits over the cutting edge and added tabs at each end to bolt it into the bucket for the winter. I was also considering bolting a 2x6 through the bucket bottom under the cutting edge.

Pat,

I've lived in snowy areas my whole life. I really think you are going to want a blade, or maybe even a snow blower to move snow.

If you haven't had your rear tires filled, that really makes a huge difference.

If you have any significant grades, you probably will need tire chains.

If you have a long driveway, it is quite difficult to remove snow with just a loader. The snow has to get consistently pushed to the side as you move forward. Only a blade or blower can do that.

Enjoy winter,
Knute

Hey Pat! I am not far from you either, West Monroe/Parish area here. Last year I had a snowplow on my old TO-35 which worked great at first. As the snow kept coming, the driveway would narrow more and more to the point I could barely move a car through it. My dad had to keep coming up with his blower and it would completely open my driveway, yard, everything. After about his third trip to do this, I bought a brand new Mahindra 2615hst. I was going to buy a blower for it, but the snow finally stopped. I will own a blower by next winter without a doubt. I didn't like the blowers at first because they are a lot slower going than a plow or bucket, but when we have winters like last year, it was the only thing that seemed to work. I attached a pic of my driveway from last winter.

Thanks guys! I like the Pipe idea. I will have to come up with something.
Pat

Ps I do have a 66"blower and a blade, but when you get 5 foot of snow on top of the 3 feet you got two hour earlier...
I just hope the loader will do it for me this year.
