My wife was looking at an estate auction and there was a Woodfire Pizza Oven new in the box up for auction. She though it would be great for outdoor get togethers. The price started to get pretty high and I looked online to see just how much the things cost. The auction price rose to the point it was more than new, which I have seen before. I found one on eBay, also new in box, for substantially less than new. So I took a risk and bought it. The woodfire part is, I think, a gimmick. There is a little perforated container that holds about 1/2 cup of wood pellets that can be used to give whatever you are cooking that "woodfired" flavor. I haven't tried it yet so I don't know and could be wrong. But the thing is great for making small pizzas. I really like it. I make pizza dough rounds that weigh 4 ounces. Then we set out toppings and sauces in small bowls and folks make their own custom thin crust pizzas. The pizzas are small so hungry folks can make more than one if they want different kinds of pizza. They take between 5 and 7 minutes to cook so folks don't have to wait long for their custom hot pizza. The oven is made to be left outside so there is no problem entertaining outside. I am really surprised that I like the thing and am glad I bought it. It gets really hot if you want, 700 degrees. I mostly cook at 550 degrees. It gets hotter than my oven and stays hot when taking a pizza out and putting another in. And making pizzas is easy. Anyway, it seems like one of those goofy Seen On TV type things but is actually a good product. Just don't pay the new price, look for one on eBay new in the box that somebody got for a wedding gift.
