Pioneer 8010-4 vs 8010-4p QC ???

One of my male QC on the rear remotes up and decided to crack and split today Anyway, it was a Pioneer 8010-4 ag male connector. I went to a local hardware that has a variety of stuff like that. When I first plowed thru there unorganized pile of QC's I couldn't find a -4 but there were lots of 8010-4p's with a tit on the end instead of a ball. I finally found one 8010-4 like I had and bought it. My question is would the 8010-4p work in the same female part as the 8010-4 and what is the functional difference between the two ? Thanks

They are functionally interchangeable. The p stands for poppet. The poppet style will flow marginally more oil than the ball style at the same pressure. The ball style is marginally more durable as the poppet wears at the same contact point while the ball rotates and wears more slowly. I stock both styles and 95% of the customers don't know or care which they get.

I wish there was more of a standard. I have the poppet style Pioneer ISO "B", which doesn't work with the ball style. I found this out the hard way. Actually just ordered 6 more QD fittings today.

Piston I can see why you had to find out the hard way. There are so many styles it gets confusing - at least to me it does.
