If you dont have an adapter, or want one, you could do like Pineridge, and weld the adapter plate to a spare drawbar.
I vote to make yourself or buy an adapter, like many us have done. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The only problem that I can see with the 3-point mounted rigs is this. When I used one for moving a loaded trailer everything was A-OK until the weight got heavier on the back half of the trailer than on the front. The 3-point hitch then allowed the front of the trailer to freely rotate up and the back of the trailer drove itself into the ground. By fastening to the draw-bar that problem is eliminated.
I have heard of a few that used a chain fastened to the draw-bar to restrict upward motion to a 3-point mounted hitch but I have also wondered what damage might be done if the 3-point was accidentally raised while that restrictor chain was still in place. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Hi Mike; That's a very true statement about the trailer tongue rotating up. I have a chain that I wrap around the "chainkeeper", I'll call it, that's on the drawbar on the newer TC's. I'm thinking about making some kind of rigid diagonal to do the same thing. The only time I've used my getup is with unloaded trailers at this point. I don't doubt for a minute yours works very well too. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif The only thing I can see wrong with yours is that I got more welding time on mine /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif. Is that as good as seat time? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
