Toro Dingo 320 D
I have a Toro Dingo 320D mini skid steer, 20 hp Kubota engine powering a 10.8 gpm high flow pump.
MY goal is to put in slightly larger pump to achieve my main goal of increasing the rpms of my post hole auger drive. I do have a stock flow control divider on the machine, but I would like more rpm.
MY QUESTION IS....Will this do any damage to my other hydraulic components such as my drive motors and cylinders? Will my existing hydraulic system be able to handle the faster flow safely?
MY main work is digging post holes

Is this pump also used for the travel drive or propel function?

With 20 Hp & 10.8 GPM you are probably at the load limit of the Diesel engine when operating around 2,500 PSI. Increase flow means decrease in pressure which would equate to less drive force for turning.

Might have to look at smaller motor on the auger with understanding torque will decrease with speed increase.

What size hose is going to the auger?

Make sure there are no smaller flow restricting fittings or washers inline.

Have a hydraulic shop check the flow rate at the aux connectors, the flow control divider may not be working right.

You may want to look at your divider. See if it's the adjustable type. If adjustable, it's typically for the priority circuit. I would think the priority circuit is the drive motor(s) for the highest flow. Adjusting that down a little will give more flow to the secondary circuit. You may have to make a choice between ground speed and work speed. Putting on a larger pump will mean a larger flow divider as well. See if you can work with what you have. Or at least use some economics--An adjustable divider is WAY cheaper than a new pump.

How about trading in the auger for a faster turning one?

Do you often stall out the current auger motor? You could put a slightly smaller displacement motor on it, but you would have less torque and it would stall out easier.
