I am in the process of deciding on the best method of mounting a winch on my flatbed trailer.
Since this large group of talented and creative folks have done this probably as many times and ways as there are to do it I thought I would ask folks to post picture of their trailer winch mounts.
From all the pictures I hope you post, I am certain that I will not have to invent the wheel but can just copy another person's design.
Thanks

Well, I'd think that a few pictures from you of the trailer in question would be a good start.

Dimensions of the trailer next.

Then a bit of an explanation of what you expect (maximum) to be winching.

Harbor freight and TSC sells a $50 winch mounting bracket that mounts in a 2 inch receiver. They also sell a small 2 inch receiver they can be welded or bolted on to just about anything. That's what I'm going to do to mine. The bonus of this is you can transfer the winch to anything or anywhere there is a 2 inch receiver and just slide The winch into the receiver and secure with a hitch pin.
I welded one to the bucket of my tractor and keep a hitch ball in there now but will be able to transfer the winch to it if needed. IMG_0325.JPG

I have an 8k winch in a cradle that can be mounted in the receiver hitch on my truck. I also mounted a receiver on the trailer so I can winch stuff onto the trailer. Works real well.

Only a 2500 lb. HF winch meant to pull motorcycles onto an enclosed trailer, so not heavy duty. But I used a bolt on hitch receiver 35 Lb. Capacity Step Bumper Receiver
Added a hitch step to it. Hitch Extender with Step
Bolted the receiver to the floor and the winch to the step. Removable plus I can insert it into the truck's receiver if needed elsewhere.

Asking for pictures of how folks have mounted their winches is pretty straight forward. :)
My trailer dimensions really are not germane :confused2: and maximum weight to be winched either as the request was for how folks did it. I did not narrow my request to only those that have identical situations as I have.

I am looking for ideas as to how they have mounted theirs. I will take the ideas that are useful and combine them to fit my needs. Just trying to not reinvent the wheel if I can avoid it.

I have multiple trailers and pretty much have to decide the best methods for my application. A 12K winch has to be structurally mounted just like a 2K winch but stronger. Both have to be adequate for the loads that will be applied.

Maybe I don't understand what you are asking.

Here is a picture of my light weight 14K trailer

Do you have any pictures of how you mounted the receiver on the trailer and how you structurally supported that mount?
That would be great.
Thanks

I'm planning on doing the same thing on my flatbed trailer. I already have a receiver on front of truck and plan on installing winch on trailer using a receiver so I can put winch on trailer or on truck or perhaps even tractor (no current plans)..
