Here are some pics of the new Kubota mid size M7 from a recent farm show. While others own this market, those others also used to own the small and utility size market and you had to like it or lump it. Kubota has become the elephant in the room of the small tractor market. I like it.

Here we go. Pics of n M7-151 that I will presume is 151 HP. It is a massive machine that looks plenty rugged for tillage and general grain farm type work.

Wow. Impressively rugged.

This one had axle stubs you can add duals-- on the rear only--to. No front duals yet and the front axle actually looked a little light.

Look at the size of those real lift pistons. Seems like you could lift the Queen Mary.

Rear hitch looks tailor made for the Midwest corn and soybean rotation.

Buddy seat? Natch.

Sales info at local dealers. I have one.

Front end starter weight has lots of room for a lot of weight so this puppy is meant for pulling wide implements. Good luck Kubota.

Looks very nice.
The one thing I really wish my tractor had is that buddy seat. Almost enough to make me trade it in, but not there yet.:)

Yep. Kubota is definitely making a run at the AG market. In my area the cattle guys are using the 100-135HP model Kubotas for their haying operations. See more every year.

I'll be watching this move. For their sake, I hope they overbuilt rather than underbuilt. If they start with a dependability issue they'll probably not recover and have to retreat back into the Utility and under market. Time will tell.

The front axle is fine but guys want to put duals on the front too so they will need to beef it up. Other than that, this is as beefy or maybe beefier than a comparable Deere. It looked strong. I haven't compared the stats yet but it looked like it was up to the challenge. It was hot in the sun that day and I wanted to get in the shade so I forgot a picture of the front axle but I think I can get one.

I've owned bigger Kubotas since 1990 and my M8950 was a serious 90 HP tractor.

I love my M9540 as a Utility tractor. I do some AG work with it but it's limited. It's built to be a Utility tractor. So it's lighter. That's fine with me because that's what I bought it for. If buying an AG tractor, weight is your friend.

I have complete faith in Kubota. I hope this works for them.

Thanks for posting the pics dog man. :)

Also saw an M7 at an Ohio county fair a couple of weeks ago, so they are starting to show up at dealers. Sorry I didn't get the chance to grab some pics. Standing next to it, it's an impressive machine.

I'm not so sure the front can't handle duals. Remember the M7 was supposed to be available in North America last fall, but it is now here a year late. I heard the primary reason was North America insisted on a heavier front axle than designed in for the European market. I can only think the beefier front axle was to enable duals but never asked. I've driven a M7-171 KVT Premium and it's sweet. The info available is poor - like my dealer had 5 last Wednesday and all had different tire configurations. There is nothing in the specs about all the tire combos available for example. And since the M7 is not on Build My Kubota, there is no way to determine all the options available. I was really chomping at the bit but with winter getting near, would hate to buy just to have it sitting in the machine shed for 5 months.

A Kubota rep was standing next to it and he said that Kubota will not authorize duals on the front. He did mention something about the font axle and Europe being different but I'm not sure. Kubota has never liked duals on the front for some reason and I recall a corporate guy telling me something about "king pin inclination" and pressure on the hubs (from an extended "center point") but that was 20 years ago.

My experience is that Kubota will do most any tire combo you want as long as the ratios are correct. The standard size on the M7-131, 151 and 171 is 14.9R28, front and 18.4R38 rear. It weights 15,000 lbs shipping weight and the rear lift is 20,700 lbs at link ends or almost 12,000 lbs 24" behind. The "Premium" model is a CVT so I'll bet we're going to see more of those. If you want my sales brochure, advise.

You are a lucky guy to have been able to try one out. Having read your posts on other things, I'll bet you'll own one of these at some point. I sure wish we lived closer so I could be your new best friend. :D

Maybe the reason for the "no duals on front" is that Kubota has built in an front wheel overdrive when turning a sharp corner, which can help the front end pull itself around. At least the M6 is set up this way, guessing the M7 has it too.

Anyone get a quote yet?

No quote yet but I have read a number of Kubota owner's manuals and one thing that sticks out was the warning not to run duals.
