local tractor supply has pictured King Kutter BB-G-48 box blade. I am concerned it might be a bit much for the BX, the KK web site states it's 350lb.

My other concern is the 26" wide mount and height of the mount. Will this work on the BX 3-pt without issue?

If you loosen the lower arm stays or keeps, ie, the turnbuckles?, you can certainly spread the arms to 27", that's not a problem. What is a problem is the weight, not just by itself, but with the dirt/gravel that it is going to load. Yes, sometimes lift height is troublesome, especially when driving over dips, the tractor goes up and the implement goes down.;) That much I can tell you for sure.

My neighbor has the same box. I have threatened to load it up and see just how beastie the thing is. I have borrowed his 6' rake and man, was it ever a load and a half. I dunno. Will it work? yeah. How well? *Shrug*

Some one with a BX has this unit or similar and can better advise. I think your concerns are legitimate.

I should mention there are several other 4' box blades available... the reason I am interested in this one is it's the professional grade priced the same as the lighter weight ones and seems like a much better deal. they want $599.

the other dealers in town have the CountyLine 4' and asking $599 as well, which is a rip off when I know TSC sells them for just over $400 but we don't have a TSC near. The difference between the CountyLine and the professional grade king kutter is obvious

I am watching craigslist and local paper for used one, but haven't found anything yet.

The 4ft KingKutter will be fine behind the BX. I have a similar one behind my BX2230. I also am using a KingKutter 7' rake -- works great also as long as I use 4wd.

which model king kutter are you using? there are 2 different grades. the one most people have uses 3/8" steel, the one I am looking at is their professional grade with 1/2" steel

Yeah, there might actually be THREE versions to consider, if you count the 48", the 42" version and the XB version they market in some places under their own name, KK.

The price for the XB stuff is aggravatingly high, imo, for it is lighter gauge in every way. Now, don't get me wrong, a ton of folks prefer the XB units because they aren't looking for big heavy stuff, and the XB implements are well enough made for the weekend warrior. But to price them same as the higher gauge stuff seems more than weird, but even wrong to me. My Kubota manual for my BX says the maximum weight for BB is 375 ibs. FWIW
