Kubota L2800 HST
My 2009 L2800 is developing a resistance when depressing the FWD/REV peddle in the forward direction. Once it gets past approximately 25% of movement, it becomes easier up through full peddle, but that initial resistance is getting worse. If this sounds like a transmission problem, it is going to the dealer. But if it is more likely to be binding linkage or a dry peddle pivot shaft or such, I would feel comfortable probing deeper myself. Any one have any experience with or thoughts on this?

Time to oil the pivot mechanism. Had the same issue on my Kubota F Series diesel front mount mower but mine was backing up, not going forward and all it needed was some oil on the pivot and a shot of grease to finish it up. My mower has a grease fitting on the pivot that I somehow missed.

That is encouraging. I lube the tractor fairly regularly but the peddle pivot arm is buried up in the linkage and I could have easily missed it last time (or multiple times for that matter). I'll crawl under there and give it a shot or two. Thanks for the suggestion.

It's easy to overlook the 3 zerks underneath, one each for clutch, brake and throttle pedals - but they're there. I have to use a flashlight to find mine, but they're there and they do need grease every so often.

The top one in the photo, is the hst pedal, the zerk is facing more forward vs. the other 2 which face more downward...

Whoa, that is a surprise. I have been missing that top one. Nothing like a picture, thank you very much Mr. Old and TIred. That tractor will be in the garage today!

You started the ball rolling Gem99ultra. My thanks go to you too.

Before you grease, you might want to pressure wash those joints, clean out all the old gunk that might be slowing stuff up. Then grease. You can find the fittings a lot easier also. Just serviced my BX and L, amazing what a wash job will do, and they were not that dirty.

I did pressure wash before pulling it into the garage yesterday, and I was wrong about the grease fittings. Once I saw them, I knew that I have been shooting all three each time I serviced the tractor. So I followed all the linkage paths and when I removed a cover plate above the floor deck bolted to the side of the console (right next to the peddle), I found a bearing that travels in a "V" shaped plate, moving up one side in forward and the other in reverse. The bearing was frozen and heavily scored, creating the resistance I have been experiencing. It's purpose is to depress a switch up under the console when you are not moving and to release the switch when moving forward or backward. Not sure what the switch does.

Need to order a new 'V" plate and bearing today.

Here ya go. If you can help with part numbers, that would be great. I need the "V" plate and the roller bearing. I tried to grease it up by that only helped a little bit.
