I am look for a pump or pump houseing for my case lawn mower. It is a hydrostatic operated mower. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it . I bought some parts from a guy in PA for it,but I have lost his email address.
I had to replace my pump on my Ingersoll/Case about three years ago now. I started at the dealers and they all wanted way too much. If I remember they wanted over $600 for the pump and over $150 for the coupling. My pump was a Parker pump, if your's is too then you may be able to do the same thing I did and save some cash. I had a relief valve plug and the system over pressurized, this caused the engine to spin/smear the keyway on the pump shaft. The pump shaft was usless. I figured out that it was a Parker D27 series gear pump. You can order this pump from your local Parker store or online somewhere for about $150. Then I took the back off mine old one and swaped it with the back from the new one. The Case pump has "proprietary" fittings. I also measured the bearing bushing and could not measure a difference between the two with calipers, so I was confident I wasn't putting a worn out bearing on a new pump. Mine has been working fine now for 400hrs. If you don't want to swap the backs you might find the fittings at Surplus Center. The coupling was a standard Lovejoy coupling from Northern Tool for about $20 delivered.
Dodger,
Go to Yahoo user groups. There's a group that I believe is called "casegardentractors". Someone can steer you to a new, used or alternative part.
