Parts Availability for BX-24 (the old one)

It's crazy to me that I can go back on this forum and see my posts about tractor researching, as well as posting when I finally got my first real tractor, and now here it is on present day, where that tractor is pushing 20 years old now. But, enough of the preamble.

I have an almost-20 year old BX24. It still runs and operates perfectly, but there are some things on it that just need new life. I'm thinking of taking it to my dealer and asking them to make it great again, as much as is possible, but I'm curious about parts availability. I might be conflating my assumptions with passenger vehicle part woes, and it might be totally ordinary for parts to still be very readily available for a 20 year old BX. But, the things that come to mind that are in need of being made great again are:

Tail lights
Seat
Throttle handle (totally broke off the other day)
Operator platform (physically broke recently)
Fuel gauge, either sending unit or gauge, dunno
Stupid plastic front end and the hood
Seat belt

If I tote this thing to the dealer with the request of, "Please just fix or replace everything that isn't great," what do you predict the response would be?

I would think "OK, what is your budget?" Parts should still be available. They will not be cheap but should be cheaper than a new tractor, maybe.

I had a BX 2350 but traded it in about 5 or 6 years ago. I had replaced the taillight on one side and the plastic front end, engine surround. The taillight was pretty cheap but the engine surround was a little pricey, going by memory $250 to $350. My seat belt broke twice on the steel bar on one side. I got a cheap one off of Amazon.

I would guess all the stuff you need is still available but I think when you add it up plus labor is going to be pretty pricey.

A quick trip to Messicks online parts site shows how many are available and for how much. I was surprised to see they stock six (6) hoods !

Sounds like basic weekend maintenance. You can add up the parts in an hour online. After that it is just your time vs theirs. Looks to me like 4 to 8 hrs work -but probably spread over several weeks as parts arrive.

BTW, their search prog. wants the model as BX-24D, a hood is a bonnet, and several models use the same taillights.

Yeah, I know it will be pricey, but even if it's all under, say, $3000, I'm still way ahead, IMO. This tractor will have no problem lasting another 20 years if I want it to. But, I could also consider looking into what I could get for selling it, and then put that toward a new one.

Since your contemplating you can use a hood from any bx 60 or 70 series and they are metal instead of plastic. But you will need the hood side of the hinge from 60 or 70 series. The rear fender you can use bx2360 bx2660 bx2370 or bx2670 and again will be metal instead of plastic. The floorpan from bx2360 or bx2660 will also work and is metal. Unfortunately there was never a metal versio of the side bonnet that goes around the engine but they are available new and not real expensive. I have several bx tractors in my salvage yard if you need anything
