9282 new holland
I have a 9282 4-wheel drive New Holland tractor, my M P H display on the dash is reading to slow, for example on the road it will show 12.8 I put a portable G P S in the tractor and it shows I am going 16 which is correct, I have changed the speed sensor , did nor help. I have contacted 3 service managers in the area with my problem and they tell me they will have to do some research and they will call me back nothing happens, one told me to check and see what my ohm reading was on the sensor he said it should be in the 1000 to 1200 range it was 1240 so I dont know where to go from here. also I have calibrated it to the top end it adjusts from 20 to 50 I am now set on 50 to start with when I checked it it was set on 46 then it was showing 11.4 on the road going to 50 helped a little but that is all the higher i can set it.alsso I just purchased the tractor it was like this when I bought it, former owner said he never tried to recacibrate it . Any ideas wold be appreciated.THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

My neighbor has a GPS that is far from accurate. Have you checked your GPS calibration with multiple vehicles? No just one. I would see how it adds up between your typical daily drivers, and get the average, and figure from there. If it's not the GPS, then maybe it has to do with tire wear? 1/2" of tire tread=1" total. If they're worn down 3/4" that can throw things off pretty bad.
