Oh Boy! went out this weekend and finally got my Farmall! Found a '41 "A" 4 hours from here. Sure is different jumping on that (after you crank start it) than running around on my B8200.

Sure is a lot of differences between the '41 "A" and '88 B8200; the gas engine, governor, 2wd, offset engine. And, the wiring is so simple. All there is is a kill switch. Oh, the steering brakes WORK on the Farmall, unlike the Kubota...

Now I need to find a belly mower...

Sure was fun to curise on on 4th of July!

I assume the steering brakes are hand operated so they don't get in the way of the Hydro transmission they were planning for future models?

Also tell us a little about the hydraulic operated 3 point system! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Congrats Robert...I am also looking for an old Farmall for showing/restoring. I almost bought an "H" that was sale for $2K just about 5 miles from my house a couple of weeks ago, drove past it about 10 times and even sat on it and started it up a few times...made an offer of $1500 but they owner wouldn't take it...I planned on upping my offer after I attended a local antique tractor show (hoping to find a better deal at the show), as I was leaving the show empty handed I decided to drive by one more time and call the owner that night to negotiate a deal but the tractor was already gone...my loss...was in pretty good shape and I could have even driven it to my house.

Good luck with yours!

Thanks!
I used the following resources to find this tractor:
ytmag.com classifieds and photo ad's
atis.net classifieds
ebay.com Search on "tractors"

I actually found this through EBAY. A gentleman had a Massey Pony for bidding. I had seen him sell a Case and Allis "B" a few weeks earlier. I emailed him, and asked if he had a Cub or "A" Farmall. Sure enough... he did! He didn't have it on the auction.

Club's and some of the antique tractor pages can be a great source!

Oh, that 3pt "AIR" lift works great! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

May we all bow to Furgeson, lest we all be without 3pt /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

It has one heck of a adjustable drawbar though /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Hi Thomas,

Serial No. 91627, which from what I can find is actually a '42, not a '41. This is from YTMAG.COM

I check Ytmag almost every day, and ebay everyday...lots of tractors but I need to find one that won't cost me an arm and a leg to ship across the country (to Mass.).

thanks for the links.

Thanks again for going to the trouble of posting even more links. I'll check those out...I also checked atis.net, which I haven't done rececently, and it seems a few tractors in my area have come on recently...I know what I'll be doing this weekend...

Enjoy!
