Yesterday afternoon I had my first mechanically related panic at about 240 hrs.
While moving a lot of fill over a 500' distance (35 or so trips; no trailer, truck can't go there anyway), the PT suddenly refused to go forward at more than a slow crawl.
Full right treadle seemed to on be about 1/3 of usual power; reverse was fine.
Instantly, I had visions of being up to my elbows in hot oil, speaking words I didn't know I knew to hoses & valves.
Trying to keep panic at bay, I looked through the manual (hee-hee) to see if I could divine what the problem might be.
Couldn't see anything obvious. My PT has the valve mounted on the treadle, and all looked OK.
With panic building, I called Terry the next day. He said "hmmm...check to see if the treadle assembly is fastened to the frame, don't know what it could be."
Even more panic. Back to the diagrams and the parts pictures. Not sure how to proceed, but knew that I must!
So - I took the toolbox to the PT, ready to disassemble from the treadle inward, hoping it might only be the valve or broken treadle or who knows what.
Boxes and buckets for parts were ready, digital camera charged to remember how parts go together.
THEN, I removed the small rock that was wedged under the right side of the treadle and finished moving the dirt. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
