I just started my Ford 1620 for the first time since it had it's 300 hour service from the local Ford (New Holland) dealer. When I rev'd up the engine, I heard a high pitched squeal that stopped whenever I operated the FEL control. I figured this meant that the hydrostatic tranny fluid was either very low or very high. Sure enough when I checked the dip-stick, the level is at least an inch over the full mark. I moved the tractor out of the way and shut it down since the one pass that I made was enough for the amount of snow the wind left on my drive.
My questions are:
Was any damage done because the tranny fluid was so over full? (My actual driving/operating time was about 5 minutes).
Will I cause any damage driving the tractor for the minute it will take me to get into my garage to drain some excess fluid or do I have to do it in the snow?
If there wasn't any damage done, I'm going to keep the dealer out of it since they don't seem to have their act together :confused2:. I won't bore you with the long drawn out details, but I hadn't planned on ever dealing with them again anyway.
Thanks
