A guy I went to school with has a overhead fuel tank on his property. He said I coould have it he dont use it. It needs painted and new filter and hose ect. My problem is it has 2 holes in the front of it. Maybe 1/8" long by 1/8" wide. I can fit my pocket knife in the crack. I dont think its been used in years. The filter has rusted in half. My question is can it be welded and be useable again?? or should I not worry about it and find another one?? The stand it is on would be worth having if I needed some angle iron for a project. Thougts??
Thanks for the help and advice guys!!

You sure could weld on it. There may be unexpexted consequences though if certain procedures are not followed.

Best to salvage the stand and buy a new tank.

Use a ball peen hammer and give a few wacks on the bottom.

Well i was thinking scrap the tank and keep the stand. The angle iron is worth keeping in my eyes. I can always find another tank and stand. I probably dont have the means to weld it anyway.
