Will overfilling font axle on B-7500 blow the seal ? Dealer replaced front seal and charged for 2 gals gear oil. Manual calls for 3.4 qts. Ran for two hours, wheel locked up. Checked front axle and all oil had run out.

The front seal on my L3000DT leaks a bit of oil now and then, sometimes I see a small spot on the floor of the barn. One time I over filled the front axle but drained it back to what was a little over full, that was about 8 months ago. I haven't seen any leaking since then.

I am sure over filling can put more pressure on the seals but I don't think they would fail to the point of all the oil leaking out in two hours time. For the wheel to stop turning that quickly I assume the damage to the bearings had to have been done prior to the seal being changed.

The manual on my tractor says that I can use 90w gear oil which is a little thicker and would not be as prone to leak as the UDT will.

How about releasing the vent/ overfill bolts and then you will know that you are exactly full? Does your machine not have them? I release mine and fill with oil until it comes out of vent holes. Should be 1 one on each side of axle, and make sure it comes out both holes cause the oil may take longer to get to one side as the fill port is usually on the drivers side of axle. Hope it helps.

Turns out that the bottom section of the bevel gear case on the front left was broken in half. Dealer had never seen this before... Had to replace gear, seals , bearings. 600 bucks. Anyone ever seen this ?

No.... but I don't have 20 years of tractor ownership and thousads of hrs on my Kubota, I only have a little over 600 hrs between a B7500 and now my L2800.

No, It's a 2002 with 720 hrs. Dealer said Kubota rep came in and took pics of the broken housing, as he had never seen one broken in that place before.

Could have been a bad cast, rare but happens. I think Kubota should have maybe helped you out with this! A cast iron part on an axle should not snap in half. Do you maybe drop the front end hard sometimes when using the loader?
