Per prior post asking for opinions. Newbie with new home on 6 acres of well manicured grass. Want more capability than ZTR. Looking at K bx2200 with 60' MMM. Has a gravel road to be occasionally maintained and will probably be doing landscaping (smaller) projects. Any thoughts as to whether this will get the job done or not. Dealer has offered at 10800 but I think better price may be out there. Comments are welcome - thanks!!

I just bought a BX2200 with 60" mmm and block heater and heavy duty alternator for $10,500. I thought I paid about $350 or more than I should have, but could not pass up the zero percent financing...

Hope this helps...

I really love mine for mowing and light landscaping. I don't have a gravel road to maintain, though, and have only a little more than an acre of land. Also keep in mind that there is no back hoe option for the 2200 right now.

Good luck, it's a great rig!

If you ever think you might want a backhoe, it would be best to get the BX22 TLB. I use the backhoe almost as much as the loader. It is so easy to remove and hook up the 3 point. Ten minutes after you get the hang of it. Great little tractor. Not sure about the MMM I don't have any lawn only trees and gardens.

Bought my BX2200 last October. It saved me during last winters snowstorms here on the East Coast with it's 4 wheel drive and Front loader. The 60" MMM does a good job in conjunction with the excellent turning radius of the tractor. If you plan on doing any excavation work this little tractor is like a mini bulldozer in my opinion. All in all this is the best investment that I ever made.

whesser,

I've had mine for over a year (180 hours) and love it. You'll be able to fly while mowing your lawn (mine is too rutted in spots, and I can shake a kidney loose going too fast). I have a gravel drive that's over 1000' long, and I just spread 100 tons of stone with a 4' boxblade. Not a problem there.

I would suggest that you consider getting a front end loader---you'll find in incredibly useful for moving soil, mulch, gravel, sand---and you can use it for other things like a fencepost "hammer", a dustpan, etc. Once you have one, you won't know what you did without it. And I second the idea about looking at the BX22, if you feel you're going to need to dig holes or do trenching---the backhoe is very capable. I wish that I had waited until that model was out---but I had need of a tractor, and went with the 2200.
