Opinions on 25HP dsl w/ MMM under $7,500

Looking for opinions/ideas/suggestions on buying a used ~25HP diesel with 62"-72" MMM for cutting large piece of grass quickly. 4WD would be desireable. $7,500 would be my upper limit, so I don't
even know if I'm being realistic.

I don't want a front-mount mower style tractor, but may buy one if I can't find a tractor that fits my budget. There seems to be a plethera of them available.

I've found a couple Deere 955's w/ 72" decks. That's the size/capability tractor I want. Happy to look for other brands, too.

A flail mower on my Challenger isn't going to work. It's far too heavy for lawns.

We run New Holland eco tractors and the similar styled Fords. We have:

TC30~72" deck, 30hp
Ford 1520~72" deck, 24hp
Ford 1620~no MMM, just uses 3pt implements, 28hp

We are happy as can be with these tractors. In fact, when we only had 4 tractors, that 1520 was one and did the most jobs. They are the best. About the same size as a 955. I guess I'll tell a little story.

We had the 1520, and we didn't want to have to keep on switching from MMM to 3pt implement. We were getting another New Holland to mow, so that the 1520 could garden. First, we got a TC25 w/ loader. That didn't stand up to the 1 less HP 1520. So, then we got a TC40. That was a beast with an 84" deck. But, it still didn't mow right, i.e. clumps of grass. Then, we got the TC30. That was the only one that fit our needs exactly.

They are cheaper models, easy to climb on and off of. Have great hydro trannies. Wonderful workers. All ours are hydros.

I would like to give a warning: our Kubota/NH dealer says that these particular hydros go out at about 1500hrs. We haven't experienced it, though. Our highest hour Ford/NH is about 1150hrs.

We own one and love it. Use it for other things too, but for lawn work, the thing is awesome!!

60"MMM, 2 speed HST, bought new, they list for around $14,500. We could not find anything used, either way overpriced, or total garbage, so new we went!!

Depending on the size of tractor you find, a 72" will not be good, too much scalping because the tractor may be to small to handle it. We had the choice of a 72", but the 60" was recommended for this model.

Builder I would keep my eye out for either a Kubota BX2350 used(60" deck) or a older B model which could come with a 72" deck. If you are willing to get one with some hours, I think you can stay in your bubget.
