I originally posted my very first message in the wrong place I guess, it was under the general "Owning/ Operating" forum and should have been here instead. Like I said, I'm new so please be patient with me. The question I had was---would a 6' rotary cutter and a 7' rear blade be too much for a 3010HST 4wd. Thanks again.

Well, being the warm, friendly kind of people that we are, we'll forgive you this time./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Not to worry, Chris. Your <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=owning&Number=154214&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=2&fpart=>very first message</A> has now been moved to the correct forum.

This thread is now sort of a duplicate and is therefore subject to deletion, but then we'd miss out on Garry's warm welcome, so maybe we'll let it slide. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Oh -- and let me add a welcome, too.

Welcome, Chris

I got a little nudge in the right direction very recently, too. I read your initial post - and due to my recent mis-post, I wanted to yell <font color=orange> DUCK AND COVER, CHRIS!</font color=orange>

Congratulations on the 3010! My Dad has ~50 hrs on his, and I'm stalking an older Kubota right now.

I think you are pushiong your luck with a 6' cutter. I have a 6' on my 3710 and am very pleased. I'm pushing the limit when I feed it a steady diet of 1" - 2" brush. The 7' back blade sounds about right, when it's fully angled it's probably closer to 5.5'. If the blade turns out to be too big you can easily downsize it yourself, not so with the cutter....
