Spent all of yesterday baling hay. Baled 2,550 small square bales just yesterday. Never got much of a break as wagons were coming and going non stop for 6 hours till one of my customers were done. We sent out 18 loads, most in the 8x18's and some in the 9x18 but only two in the old wood rack as it had the furthest to go and longest time to unload so no sense sending the big wagons. Here are a few pictures.

This is from the day before but shows the TN standing proud in front of a very short days work. There is around 420 bales on these three wagons.

Robert:

My back gets sore just looking at those bales. But sure do miss the smell.

May the crop be bountifull.

Farmers use to love me, when I was in high school our football team would work out at about 5:30 am and by 8 we'd be done. A few of us would head out to the farm, or neighboring farms, and would work all day picking up hay. we would have been [censored] if they would have got machinery like that, it would have taken our jobs away. We had a blast doing it and we'd make a few bucks to spend. Looks like you put up a lot of hay and of course I bet it would be hard to get enough labor to help nowadays in most parts of the US?

We had a fun day yesterday and the day before too, not so many bales as we started at 4:30 and the dew set a bit before 7. About 700 bales on the 2 days.

We were working fields on our own property, unfortunately their yields have fallen very low, only about 70 bales/acre. A lot of evergreens pioneering in on the sides. It needs a heavy liming and fertilizing.

Some nice shaped bales out of the 336, the hay was a touch too dry as the stems were breaking alot, made for much chaff.
