Once again...BX24 Weight

Hi all, I've been reading here for a while and decided to sign up as I'm close to pulling the trigger on a BX24. The thread on weight from a few months ago seemed to toggle back and forth between about 2300# and 2800# for the tractor, loader and backhoe. I tended to lean toward those who said the latter, as 2300 just seemed too light for that combination. But today I had two different local dealers tell me that the weight was about 2300. ?? Anyone really know?

Well, presumably, that's where the two dealers I spoke with got their misinformation from. I see elsewhere that the backhoe is 617#...so, 617 and 1542 is 2159. Now, what does the loader weigh?

The Operator's Manual claims 375 lbs for the loader, and another 132 lbs for the bucket.

Thanks. I guess that's getting up to a total of about 2666# so far, which seems to be close to reality.

I have to tow it 150+ miles and the rental will have to be a single axle with a total load capacity of 2500#. I've read a number of towing threads here and understand the potential problems, so I think I'll put the front end in my pickup bed which would leave about 2100# in the tractor and backhoe chained to the trailer. And, I'll take it sloooowww...

Here is the compilation of info i got from my BX24 owner manaul.
Keep in mind this is printed into, not actual info. I have yet taken my tractor on the trailer to the truck scales to compare this info in real life.

Wow, thanks for that info, radioman. That number seems really low for the backhoe...I thought it weighed a lot more than that. That lowers the overall weight quite a bit. Hey, Ontario! You're right in my backyard (near Geneseo).

There is no way that the backhoe only weighs 280 lbs.

I towed my BX24 50 miles on a single axle 12 ft trailer(no trailer brakes) with the 60" mower and a 5ft woods back blade. I backed the tractor up on the trailer 'cause most of the weight is in the rear. I wouldn't put the loader in the back of the truck to tow if it was me. That leaves too much weight on just the rear of the tractor and it'll be very bouncy towing down the road. Just lift the loader over the ramps and let it rest on the ramps. Let the hoe hang over the front of the trailer a little and put the pins in the hoe so it doesn't move around. Even though the manual states to let the hoe rest on the trailer it will bounce around a lot if not chained down. Put it in four wheel drive and set the brake. Chain it down and stop to check your load a few times along the way. Leave lots of stopping room and make turns easy. Down shifting on hills ain't a bad idea either. Your gonna love that tractor.

DOH!! i looked it up again and it relized that it was 280 kilos. backhoe is 617 lbs. here is the corrects specs.
