Buying Advice Oliver 550 Opinion

I have located an Oliver 550 for sale for $3500. From what I see there doesn't seem to be a lot of them locally. People say they are a good utility tractor, but I have a concern for replacement parts. Anyone out there with this model tractor?

How are your diesel/hydraulic + general mechanical skills?

I had a nice 1945 Oliver 60 in my collection. Paid $2250 in 2010. Tractor ran fine. Needed new brake linings which I installed myself.

That 550 may or may not be worth $3500 depending on its condition.

Test drive before you buy.

Old tractors can become money pits, especially if the engine, transmission and/or hydraulics need repair.
You have to split the tractor to handle problems like this.
