I stored this 4.5 hp. Craftsman BBC 20-inch self propelled mower back about 2001, back then I changed the oil and air filter and drained the fuel tank and carb. Have not used it for at least 10-11 years. Added gas today and pushed the primer,a few times, and it started on the VERY FIRST PULL !!!! And you know what? On high speed setting it moves a LOT faster than my 2 year old Brute self propelled pusher....and the Brute is rated at 6.75 torque.

I purchased it new back in 1989...still have the sales invoice that shows $299.99 plus tax....:laughing:

I did the same thing with a 24" Honda Harmony this year! :thumbsup: It wasn't 10-11 years, but I know it was every bit of 5 years since I last pulled the handle on it! Last time I ran it I killed it by draining most of the gas and then letting it run dry. Same deal, checked the oil, added gas, primed 3 times like the manual says and it fired on the first pull...

Been using it on the sodded part of my new house, the big Toro was dropping clover and field grass seeds in the sod and they were popping up all over the place. And Lord knows, my fat arse could do with some walking behind it! :laughing:
