I have a question I want to throw against the wall an see if it sticks;
AT one time when tractors first had had power take offs was it possible that they
were rotating in the oposite direction for the few implements that were built and used
with the original power take offs in the beginning??????????
Saying that we have a flailmower owner with an old flail mower that is operating in the
opposite direction counter clockwise "according to himthe flail mower rotor is rotating
counterclockwise and it should not be doing that as the right angle gear box is a
"universal" mount-flip it on either side and bolt it down and the rotation stays the
same with one to one transfer of power with no reduction.
If what he says is correct the tractors PTO rotoation is the only reason its not working
as it should leave a carpet of 8 inch grass in its wake cut to the sod.
