Ok..need your opinions. I've narrowed my search to a BX2350 or a B7510HSD.
BX2350 with the 242 FEL, 60"MMM @ $12900 delivered.
B7510 with the 272 FEL, 60"MMM @ $14200 delivered.

The dealer is not the closest to us but only 40 miles away and picks up and drops off free for warranty work and provides a free 50 hour service. The closer dealer is firm @ $13,900 on the BX2350 and $15850 on the B7510, plus they mentioned a few 'incidental costs'.

I have a 6 acre property that needs some dirt work and light clearing, road grading, etc. Our other 4 acre property is pretty well down to mowing and light work around the house.

In driving the two units (I actually drove the JD2305 ...I like orange better I guess) I felt like the BX was the more nimble, driver friendly unit. Easier to drive and mow. I liked the design better and the loader arms made visibility a bit better. I liked the deck much better in getting on and off the unit. I am concerned about the limited 3 point although I will probably just use a blade or box blade off the back. I do want to add a bagger system eventually (TREEEEEEES!). Does the B7510 have a bagger system designed for it?

The B7510 did seem like a heavier tractor even though they weigh the same on paper. I guess the only appeal to this tractor for me was the extra ground clearance and the thought of a more powerful loader (although my ultimate usage will be mostly mowing after the lot is cleared). I know it shows less HP then the BX but the cubic inches tell a different story. I didn't really think the mower deck was as well designed as the BX. The deck rides along the ground I guess while the BX is suspended and self balanced. The B deck seemed heavier made but both seemed better than the JD.

As a bargain hunter I'm drawn to the bigger tractor for the minimal $1300 difference even though the BX is probably designed more for what I'm going to be doing. In the end, they are really the same class of tractor with the BX being a bit more compact, but can't imagine the work performance being a big difference. I guess I could see what else I could add to the BX for $1300 /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. Hey, there's an idea!

Anyway, any input would be helpful. Tomorrow may be the day. The dealer has both units equipped just like I want them.
I probably won't pull the trigger tomorrow but if he does something crazy, you never know.

Well, I own the 2230, so I am probably a bit biased toward the 2350. I read your post, though, because a few weeks after buying my 2230, I wondered why my dealer didn't talk to me about the 7510. It seems like you get more for your money with the 7510. In the end, I am happy with the 2230 and probably wouldn't have wanted the 7510 anyway because of the size difference. I wanted to be closer to the ground due to the hills I am on--lower center of gravity, and I don't plan to be doing any bush hogging, or rolling through the woods (except on already cleared or partially cleared paths).

You might also want to consider resale. I am guessing the 7510 has better resale value, but am not sure.

I, too, have the BX2230 - so there's full disclosure /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For what you have listed to do for your property the 2350 should be fine. I agree that the mower deck is better on the BX series and does a great job of mowing. The loader will do everything you need, just maybe in slightly smaller amounts.

As an example, my 2230 has been rough cutting around the edges of my 50 acres of farmland, cutting heavy brush ( I do mean heavy - barely able to walk-through heavy), moving felled trees, pulling tree root balls for burning, leveling driveways, leveling land for grass, moving many truckloads of dirt, etc. It's done everything I've asked it to do -- the importance is understanding how far to push it and not exceeding that.

When I was looking I was told by many for the things I wanted to do I'd need a bigger tractor, but I really wanted something that would mow well too. I think the BX is the far better mower.

Lastly, I think both would do a great job for you. If the BX is $1300 less, that's a couple implements you can get - box blade and rotary cutter, perhaps????

Enjoy your new purchase, whichever it may be!

Well, I checked them both out today and am convinced that the BX is the right machine for me. I thought I'd found the best deal in my area and then I see a place 70 south of me that I called. BX2350, FEL, 60"mmm, 48" Orange Landpride box blade delivered for $12500!. They evidently are the biggest Kubota dealer in the country according to their ads. Now the BX is $2000 less than the best B price so I can afford a bagger system of some type. Thanks for the responses.

There was a 7510 sitting right next to the BX24 when I went shopping...the sale price on the 7510 was $7400 (no FEL, no BH, No nothing) I had them price it up with the FEL and BH, and it came up barely higher than the BX24....then the salesman told me that it didn't have power steering, I didn't think I needed power steering, but after buying, and using, the BX...I'm glad I have PS!
My dealer told me that this was the last 7510 he was getting...they just didn't sell very well around here.

Without power steering you would have a heck of a time selling a TLB!.
I just don't see the $2000 extra on the B7510 as a smart move for me. I'm going to get this taken care of Monday so I can have it delivered for my next day off.

That's what I thought. I was already to make the deal up north of me and picked up a Big Nickel advertiser and saw their ad. I called , what the heck. I told him what I wanted...he didn't even hesitate, so I assume they just sell them for that all day long.

Springdale Tractor in Springdale Arkansas. I'm calling them right now to get a offer sheet faxed to my office. Hopefully I won't get any run around.

The 7510 was in Candler, NC (near Asheville) this was about 8 weeks ago, but they may still have it.

And no doubt no one knows better than you what is best for you!

But if it were me and I were to have only one tractor, and I thought I might want to do "tractor work" now and then in additional to grass cutting, I am about 100% certain I would go larger than the BX2350, which I think is the same size as my BX2200.

I say this because I also have a B2910 on just under 4 acres. So I know how much advantage a larger tractor has over what the BX can do. More ground clearace, more loader capacity and so on.

A difference of 2K when buying the first time is less than what it would cost to buy a second time, taking a hit on trade in or private sale of the first tractor. Not that you would get to that point...but you might.

Buying the first time is such a question. Myself, I decided on a B2410, but at the last moment upped it to the B2910, a tractor that I was certain was more than I needed. Best move I could have made I think. Except for mowing with the RFM I purchased with it. ONLY because I had too many things to cut around and close to. In open areas the RFM cut as well as the MMM on my BX.

I used the excuse that I don't hunt and don't golf, to justify trading in my RFM on a BX to accompany my larger tractor.

I know now that if I (me, myself) were to have only one tractor, it would be larger than a BX and smaller than a B3030 (same size as my B2910)

Bottom line though is that only YOU know what is best for your needs. I only write the above because I thought I had narrowed down what was best for me, then stepped up a size, and found out I was quite happy (after the fact) that I did step up in size.
