All I know is they'll be powered and influenced by Shibaura. Don't know much about them other than that. Anybody have the scoop on them and when the ETA is on them?

You know what they- sex sells! If they're selling magazines, why not tractors? ;)

In all seriosity, this is the Hustler that makes ZTR mowers.

I don't see this happening...the reason the two comanies joined forces is so Hustler could enter into the golf course business, not the compact tractor business...ad to that the fact that if they did start supplying tractors to Hustler that would not sit to well with the CNH wigs...

Yes Hustler is going to have the sub-compact tractors. They will be Shibaura (currently New Holland) but not sure exactly how they will look. They are also going to put the diesel in their Z's and yes the golf equipment. I think there will be some big things happening for Hustler in the next couple of years. Although not my most favorite Z they do make a good mower. I think they will really put a hurting on Deere and Kubota when the final Sub's hit the market. Just not sure exactly when it will be.

Maybe. Seems like more brands leaving or in hard times than coming in though. I don't see the dealers hauling as many new ones around here as I did a while back. A lot of local industries here are slow, cutting hours and employees in some cases. Probably explains why tractors aren't moving like a year or so ago. Even though this is south MS and plenty folks here get them, you still can't buy a tractor with food stamps.

I give it a year. Hustler does not have the dealer network, or the reputation to pull it off in the consumer space. A relationship to get diesel engines for golf equipment makes alot more sense.

Actually their dealer network is quite impressive. They are not going after the large compact market. What the move by Hustler could do for their already extensive dealer network is awesome. Some of the dealers who have nothing but lawn mowers will be able to grow their business in a new direction without taking on a whole new company to get that product. It will make their dealers more versitle without have to become some giant to get a variety of product.
The smaller dealers in this business are going to become more versitle with greater success. I have found that customers are starting to come back to the smaller source for products rather than the "Big dealers". Customers like variety but not the overwhelming choice. When customers buy they like knowing you as the dealer are selling them a great product not just something that was a good deal at a certain time. If they see you specializing rather than dabbling in brands they are more comfortable with their purchase and a happier customer. That is one reason why JD has been doing so much changing in the past few years and why most of their dealers now offer only JD products. When the customer walks through the door they already know what the salesman believes to be the best product now they just help them with the size of the purchase. which = less confusion and Happy Customer.
