A new Chevy Silverado Z71 4x4!! I just took delivery a couple hours ago, and it's not actually *brand new*, but it's so nearly new it hasn't even turned 1000 miles yet! Most of you will recall the thread I started about "rate this GMC deal". I passed on that truck (glad I did!) and wound up finding this gem. I looked some online Friday, and didn't see anything that really appealed to me that was reasonably close by. Looked some more online on Saturday, and drove through several lots, but still didn't see anything. Sunday, more of the same thing and still didn't find one that I wanted to go look at or drive. Monday I still was checking craigslist (which has both new & used you know) and also drove through some more lots. I did stop at one dealer that had a '12 black Z71, and it was nice looking (but a two wheel drive) but I still drove it anyway just for kicks. Told the salesman no thanks, he said he would find me a black 4x4, I said ok!
Got back home and later that evening and was checking Autotrader and this one popped up at a Chevy dealer about a 100 miles away. It's a 2013 4x4 model with crew cab, black on black cloth interior (just what I wanted!), tow package, and only 753 miles!! So, got on the phone and talked with the salesman, he said the original owner bought it just a few weeks ago and found out the hard way it wouldn't pull the trailer he had, so he traded it back in for a truck that had more tow capacity. Don't know what he got instead but, don't really care, his loss is my gain! Best part of all, they had this one listed for $31,850!!!!! Yessir! Now that's more my price range with the color and features I wanted. It's an LT (Light Trim) model with the Z71 suspension package, and also has the Onstar and Sirius (which I will probably never use), and all the usual power goodies.
Now, here comes the part where some of you may question my judgement, or just think I am plain crazy, but that's ok, I won't mind!
It was really too late Monday evening to drive over there and look at it, and I was afraid that it would be gone if I waited another day, so I went ahead and started the purchase transaction (credit application) over the phone. Having to work today, the salesman offered to deliver the truck for free! So, knowing that it was just a couple weeks used, and only had about 800 miles, I basically bought it sight unseen. Crazy huh?
It does come with the 36mth/36K mile factory warranty, and the 100K drivetrain warranty through Chevrolet. Had it been a 2012 model, or had more miles, or no warranty with it, I wouldn't have bought it that way. In the end, I lucked out because the truck is essentially brand new, only showing 965 miles after the trip over from the dealer, and is in near perfect condition. Plus, I got 1.69% through their lender (Wells Fargo), which was better than my bank could offer me.
So far, my only dislike is getting used to the door handle location, it's lower than on my F150 so I have to keep feeling for it. Also, my F150 has grab handles on both front door pillars to help you get in (which is really helpful on taller trucks). This one does have a grab handle.... on the passenger side ONLY, which is kind of dumb.
I will just have to get use to these differences though. And the monthly payments too!

Notice the chrome tow hooks, nice touch! Also, most of these trucks have a chrome bumper that is as wide as the grill, this one is almost all black up front, which I actually think looks good.

Bed doesn't even have a scratch on it!! Will have to get a price on getting a sprayed in liner this week.

Nice roomy interior with black cloth seats.

Odometer.

My 2000 model F150 with 198k miles is now green with envy. It's for sale, any takers???
