Oil weight for 15 & 16 series...

Basic question...

What oil weight are you guys/gals with 1500 and 1600 series Massey's running? I see the manual gives an option of 10/30 up to 15/40?

I'm leaning towards the 10/30 just due to climate I live in (Pac NW, 20-40 degrees during winter, 50-90 degress during summer).

Hi. I run 15-40 all year round with my 1643, even the dealer at 50 hours put 15-40. During summer as warm as you but during winther my tractor sleeps inside but my garage is near 35 degrees only but an hour or two before snow plowing I put the block heater on.

I use Shell Rotella 5w40 syn. Year round since new.
