Kubota, AGCO, New Holland LB
Just read another thread with a member's horror story of how his tractor got covered in road salt and trashed his tractor's paint job.
My Kubota is no beauty or garage queen. I plow with it and run it thru salt all the time. I'd like to be able to spray the tractor with some kind of rust inhibitive from a can or pump sprayer that's economical. Would like to spray it under dumptruck body & flatbed body on trucks, too. Should I be using fluid film? When I use FF, it seems to attract dirt more than I'd like.
Recomendations?

Hose off the underside from time to time to neutralize the salt, low pressure warm water works best.

I would use Fluid Film. You won't be attracting much dirt in the winter anyway.

I have been using bar and chain oil cut with a splash of WD-40 or hydraulic oil saved from tractor service on the trucks for years . My '94 F350 looks better than some trucks that are only a few years old and it is out in every storm. They will ' mark their territory ' for a few days after a spray though !
You can use a gravity sand blast gun and stick the pickup hose in your oil jug. I made up a pressure tank out of an old LP tank and run that into the gun, that will spray some oil !

From an economic standpoint spray it with ATF (auto trans fluid). Waukesha engine division recommends it for long term storage in their engines. Don't worry about the dust collected as it's only on the surface doing no harm.

Better keep that ATF away from the paint though.

black asphalt fence paint is about 10$ / 5g here. it's a great protective paint. not much attacks asphalt.. lasts YEARS.

I did my trailer deck and sides and underpinnings under the deck with it in 02.. it's still pretty good.

no rot on the wood either.

think with some mineral spirits and apply with a garden sprayer...
