Oil Level in Injector Pump

Hi Phil,

Sounds like we have the same type injector pump. In which case, there are two drain plugs on the bottom (you found them). There is also a small banjo overflow towards the front (radiator side) with a rubber cap. Remove the cap and add oil a little at a time through the mushroom filler until it begins to drip out of the overflow - for some reason, it can take ages before it stops dripping but am told that is not a problem.

IMHO.. that sounds at least like good thinking. Regularly serviced oil in the injector pumpshould be better than no oil. Besides.. in a injector pump application.. there aren't combustion byproducts contaminating the system. For all intents and purposes.. that sump should be VERY VERY clean.
