My first time here, hope to find an answer to an oil leak problem on a 2012 Jinma 284, purchase last year. The tractor work fine until a few weeks ago where i noticed oil spraying on my left foot it was bouncing of the side of the FEL brace. I stop the tractor and look around could not notice where it came from so i started the engine again and the engine oil started to ooze out of the oil filter all around the rim. First tough it was plug or loose, so i removed and replace it and reset the oil level, after that the engine did not start it just gave me a loud clunk. I removed the valve cover to inspect, nothing found. loosen the injectors and pump and turn the engine suspecting a cylinder full of oil or fuel if that make sense, and button up everything started the engine and it smoke heavily for a bit and started to puur like a kitten just fine. Now checking the oil level, i can see it creep up a bit after every use, i do not smell or feel antifreeze on the oil dipstick, the hydraulic oil was low so i replenish it. I am at the point where every time i use the tractor i check the oil level and hydro oil level to see if one dropping and the other rising. I suspect hydraulic oil is making its way into the engine, is this possible the FEL and 3 PT work fine by the way.

Many compact tractors use an oil pump with a gear spun by the crankshaft. You may have hydraulic oil leaking from the pump through the shaft seal and into the crankcase. A bit of seepage is not abnormal but when the seal goes bad you can get a much faster flow from the pump into the crankcase. You may be able to replace the seal or you may have to replace the pump if this is the source of your problem.

Thank you Roadworthy, I will have to do a bit of research to find a replacement gasket or seal for the hydro pump before taking it out to inspect. Having hydro oil migrating in the crankcase would eventually find its way into the engine, so engine oil mix with hydro oil, is there cause for damage to the engine?

If you have some permatex you can make your own
gasket. Maybe just a tad cheaper that traveling to get
a gasket???

Problem solved, turns out since the tractor is a 2012 model i found out that there is a hydraulic pump repair kit available for 2009 and newer at a cost of 45$ US. The kit when in without too much difficulties, it is a straight forward install, the seal was the most challenging part but i manage to pound it in with a socket without damaging it, all is working fine after assembling and using the tractor, very happy.
