LS XG3037 w/ LS LL3109 FEL Kodiak SD5 Mower, Speeco Model 65 PHD, Bush Hog BX-600 Box Blade, Titan 42" Skid Steer Pallet Fork/Hay Spear Combo
The OEM oil filter for my XG3037 is a 40283380 ($32.49) which cross references to a WIX 57000 ($20.86) which cross references to a Fram PH3614 ($4.19). My questions are....how can there be such price differences and is there really any advantage in using the much higher priced filters?

Double check that Fram filter cross number. Using the Wix online cross reference the Fram #PH3614 comes up as a Wix #51348. Price check on Amazon shows the 5700 @ $20 and the 51348 @ $9. No idea what is different internally but they are no the same filter.

Thanks, Dennis. You are correct about the WIX cross reference, however, the Fram cross reference shows the PH3614 matches the WIX 57000. Will need to research this some more. I have all three filters mentioned so I need to compare and look at the tech specs. At first glance, they all look very, very similar.

I haven't done any oil changes on my tractor but I run Wix filters on everything else I own. To save a little money I wait until the spring when my local shop runs a Wix filter sale, basically buy one get one free. I stock up and just them throughout the year.

My dad runs Fram stuff because it's cheap, but I'll never buy another filter from them again... I've had issues with bad sealing rings (they did send a pack of replacement filters which was nice) and the housing varying so much it didn't fit my filter wrench (the black dip came off) and I had to stab a hole with a screwdriver to get the filter off...

I quit using Fram years ago..... OEM filters are cheap in the grand picture of things. Those other filters may look the same but what is inside is what matters. I get my filters from Nolts Power Equipment, which has a store on Ebay.

Which Wix oil filter do you use on your XR4155?

I still haven't changed out any fluids/filters yet. My dealer did the 50 hours service as part of my purchase and used OEM filters for what it's worth. I'd be curious to see what my dealer would charge compared to tractorparts247 on eBay.

LS XR414, XR4145, XR415, XR4155 Tractor 5 Piece Filter Kit: Genuine LS Parts! | eBay

There's a couple other threads that might be worth checking for part numbers, guessing the XR tractors are becoming common enough that the aftermarket will develop something that works.

I have used Wix or NAPA(Wix) for years. They are great filters. People get bent on running factory filters on their equipment. I believe in running a quality filter and quality oil. Change it when you are supposed to and your tractor will give you years of life. My family has a John Deere 430 diesel garden tractor running Wix filters. Last I checked it has over 8,000 hours and the engine has never been broken into. My Uncle still mows with it.

I just went through this with my zero turn, generator, and 4wheeler. The filters are expensive in the stores so I inventoried part numbers and ordered online, 2 or 3 each oil, air, fuel. I do believe in OEM equipment. I buy Kubota parts from the local dealer.

Wix makes all of NAPA Good filters. I’ve used the NAPA Gold for over 600 hours on my XR3037.
Yes, oil and hydro filters
