Oil & filter and hydrolic filter change

My god i wonder who put these filters on , i have never had a filter that hard to remove in my 82 yrs. He must be kin to Atlas I had to drive a large screwdriver through the hydro filter after i could not move it any other way and it is hot out there.
I did rig up my shop vac and didn't loose any hydro oil, thanks to someone on this forum for the tip.
Its a lot of discussion on here about the engine oil. I will be using 15w40 as the temp very seldom gets below 30f .

Are you sure your grip isn't just getting weaker? .... Just kidding:laughing:.... The first filters are put on, then they paint the engines / tractors, forming a nice tight seal around the perimeter of the filter....makes them a bugger to get off the first time! Both of my new LS's were like that.:mur:

It seems all tractor engine manufacturers install the oil filter then paint the engine.
Removing the filter the first time just requires the right quality tool.
Unfortunately, the tools at the FLAPS are not quality tools.

Glad that shop vac trick worked for you. I tried it, decided to NOT use a shop vac because it was so big around the filler port. I used the house vacuum... mistake.
