for the life of me I can't figure out where the engine oil fill is. I find the dipstick and drain. If it is the cap on top of the engine block can someone verify that and that the hose needs to be disconnected from the cap before removing the cap. Or is it someplace else I am not seeing

Even a Chinese tractor cant be that hard to find where the oil goes in, any cap/cover that can come off on top of the motor is where the oil can go in, in other words it has to have a valve cover. You could email Northern Tool for more input or manual, A Nortrac tractor would be the same as Jinma

Some of the newer tractors oil fills are disguised pretty well.

The oil fill is probably on the oil pump. Oil pump probably looks like a power steering pump and the oil fill looks like the power steering dipstick/fill port.

I had to look in my book to find mine and I have been around tractors a long time.

Oil goes in the cap in the valve cover -- top of the engine. The hose comes off. I sometimes need pliers to get mine off. General rule on a Jinma is the oil fill points are painted red.
