I am coming up on 100 hours on my CK2510. I changed all fluids at 50 hours. The owner's manual says to change engine oil/filter at 100 hours but I don't see anything for the next oil change? I'm guessing engine oil/filter changes are at 50 hour intervals? I'm using Royal Purple Diesel oil 15w40 which is synthetic. What say the "Pack"

Engine oil / filter I do every 100. Before we bought our new place i usually only put 70-80 hours a year on mine, so i did once a year usually in spring, because it set most of the winter.

Engine oil and filter every 100 hours...so 150,250,350...OR change at 100 hours also and then 200,300,400...easier to remember I think, your choice!

Use a sharpie and write the date and hours on the filter.

I read the manual to mean it's the interval, not the hours. SO I did it at 160 and will do it again at 260. I wrote the date on the filter and noted date and time in my manual on the maintenance page.

BTW I use a NAPA Gold filter. It's made by WIX. He doesn't stock it but orders it and has it the next day. Part # 1324 cost $8.69

I've seen 200 hours for oil changes in all 3 of my JD manuals. I usually just change once/year. Think 200 hours would be a good change point if you heavily used your tractor. Otherwise, once/yr or maybe even once every other year would work if you put below 200 hours in 2 years' time.

I only change the oil in my pickup now about every 3rd year. Only put 2-3k/yr on it. Got synthetic in it, technically good for near 15k if used heavily.

Did you find out anything about the Royal Purple oil? I'm a fan of using synthetic oil in my all my motors and especially my diesel motors. I have run Amsoil in all my powerstrokes and now in the cummins, it's not cheap but I like the insurance. Thanks

Only 2-3k miles per year? You are definitely a home-body!

I'n not doing anything extraordinary and am going 12k - 15k / year.

I would be worried about acid build up at that rate. I would dump the oil at least once a year.

I asked a similar question of the pack a few months back and got some great feedback. I don't put much time on my tractor but use it in all different seasons. I considered all the suggestions including changing the filter and to me for the low user Murph's and a few others' recommendations made the most sense. Change at least once per year due to the time in the tractor not the time using the tractor because of condensation and the caustic properties of the buildup inhibitors. Unless your tractor is in heated storage during the winter which IMO means you can get by with a biannual change of oil and filter.
