Mowing Offset rotary cutter

I have a NH T1110 tractor and I run a 48 in rotary cutter. My rear wheel width is 54 so the cutter does not go beyond the tire. Probably a dumb question, but can I offset the cutter by tightening the lower links off to one side?

Just moving 6 inches should not be a problem. Just be aware of excessive driveshaft misalignment. Ken Sweet
