Off seat PTO

We call that a two stage clutch in the US...not too many tractors have those any more...most are HST or shuttle shifts. I had that type of clutch on a Deere 670 and Deere 790

I'm not referring to a two stage clutch.

On this newer tractors, you have the regular single disc transmission clutch on gear models and a clutch pack for the PTO that also work as PTO brake. HST tractors don't get the transmission clutch anymore.

Some older HST tractors, maybe 8 years old and on, used to have a regular clutch also. The biggest complain of the owners would be to have the brake pedals on the same side as the HST pedals.

Had any issues with your RK?

I haven't had any real issues to speak of 50 hours in, I'm still very happy with it. I mostly use it to flail mow fields and brush, chip wood and a lot of grapple/loader work. No regrets at all about going with RK at this point.

A few of the HSTs still have clutches today. Those typically have only one brake pedal instead of instead of split brakes so it doesn't crowd the right hand side footwell.

I believe you have 2 options. 1) Use your parking brake. 2) Short your seat switch.

I have an rk24 and my seat switch broke. I was able to jumper the wires together and now it always thinks I am in the seat. Your mileage may vary on the rk55.

My RK37 hydro will spin the pto regardless of parking brake or someone/something in the seat.

It won’t however start without the brake engaged.
