OEM Oil Filter for Ford 1710 4x4

The dealer sold me engine oil filter #87415600, but New Holland's website says #86546618 or 86546618DS (not sure of the difference, or what DS means). So I was thinking the new number replaces the old one, but can't be sure. This filter is considerably smaller than the one on the tractor, which I bought used and I fear the previous owner did not bother to make sure it was the right filter for this engine. Can anyone please tell me the correct engine oil filter for my tractor. . .just want to make sure the dealer didn't make a mistake before I put this on my tractor. Thanks in advance!

All are correct for a 1710. 87415600 is the current part number; 86546618 and 86546618DS are obsolete in the NH parts system. The 86546618DS is identical to 86546618 just a different ordering and stocking option for the NH dealer.

Yes, the current filter is smaller.

Rick - Thanks for the info. . .I was hoping this was the case. You saved me alot of gasoline and drive time in trying to exchange it that would have been for nothing! :thumbsup:
